Inspired by the potent dynamic capabilities of the brass family, as well as the phenomenon of sound itself, At The Speed Of Sound is a short, exuberant fanfare intended as a concert opener. The piece originates from a simple triplet figure, and the musical development is explored through rhythmic variation, canon, and polytonality.
