Resound!
(4 tpt, 4 hn, 3 tbn, tuba)
The composer was consumed with the idea of the reverberation in the lobby of the Meyerson Symphony Center, and wrote a piece that was static enough to allow the sonorities to continually “re-sound” throughout the lobby without muddying the overall texture. The piece is built on one sonority which continually evolves as it “re-sounds,” building from a very subdued, distant opening, to an exalted, resolute finale. Dallas Wind Symphony Fanfare Contest Winner. Grade 5. "...more stately than most, wide descending intervals yielding to increasingly complex harmonies and finally blazes of trumpets. …it made quite a stirring effect." - The Dallas Morning News
