Fanfare for Freedom
Fanfare for Freedom was written in the fall of 2004 and the winter of 2005. It is dedicated to the men and women of the United States armed forces serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. The work begins as a single voice that ultimately leads to many voices representing the nature of the call to freedom and democracy. The piece has a wide range of dissonance and disjunctive motion that is reflective of the democratic process. Throughout the work are arrival points of tonal clarity and harmonic unity.
