Colonial Fife & Drum Medley
(Piccolos, fifes in B♭ (optional), snare drums, bass drum)
Three famous colonial tunes: "The Girl I Left Behind Me", "Chester", and "Yankee Doodle", plus the traditional drum cadence "Roving Sailor", arranged in a durable medley. Compiled from the original 18th-century tune settings by David Lovrien. Traditional fifes in B-flat may be used, plus as many piccolos as you can muster! Percussion consists of two snares (the solo part to be played preferably on a colonial rope drum) and a bass drum. This simple arrangement plus some simple choreography and a few flags makes a great Independence Day tribute to the founding fathers!
