This beloved Texas anthem was written for the TV documentary "Lyndon Johnson's Texas" and later recorded by the Boston Pops on their album The Pops Goes West. But it is most fondly remembered as the original theme from Bob Phillips' TV travelogue Texas Country Reporter (previously called "4 Country Reporter" and "8 Country Reporter"). David Lovrien's arrangement captures all the majesty you remember while adding quotes from The Yellow Rose of Texas in this exciting setting for concert band. Grade 3.5.
