Clockworks
(Trumpet, cello, 2 marimba, 1 percussion)
Based on constant motion/momentum along with asymmetrical rhythms (or rhythmic patterns) that don't necessarily "align" with the other parts. After the initial 20 bars, there is a constant rhythmic drive of "ticking" - playing into the clock theme of the piece while including some aspects of minimalism. The piece is in 2 sections with a short codetta to finish. The first section is more dark, sinister and somewhat primal sounding - the second section is lighter and less melodic but more rhythmic and contrapuntal.
